I find myself preferring older styles, but I am getting excited by the newest trend of messy upstyles. I really like the look and the idea that it doesn't take as much work to get done. I find most clients are not interested in styles that take a long time. i enjoy the fussiness of a complex style, but many don't have that kind of time. With these more messy styles, there's a real freedom from complexity without sacrificing the look. There is a lot to be said for simple french braids that are then pulled apart and mildly deconstructed. It doesn't take a ton of time, but the look is elegant and almost as if the person could have done it themselves. Now don't get me wrong, I will always love the styles of the past, but I can enjoy what is current as well.
