It has become clear, to me, that I need to improve my social media presence. I am choosing to look at it as advertising. I can take time on my days off to prepare posts for the week. I certainly have the time at least one day a week.
I have found that in the past I looked at social media with disdain, I wasn't interested in "playing the game". I don't see the need to be an influencer, but I can utilize the internet for connecting with my current and future clients. I also don't have to only provide new content. I have years' worth of photos and even some videos that I would guess that no one remembers. It is a matter of choosing and editing. And, of course, finally sharing the information.
I am not as skilled at editing or utilizing algorithms as I could be. I need to practice and make this a part of my routine. I will get good at it, once I take the leap and get started. I think this is part of what has kept me from using the social sector to build clientel. I didn't like the process, so I didn't want to do it. I don't like feeling inept. However, I feel I am ready to change my point of view and make a solid attempt at connecting in the digital realm.
I can't say that my first attempts will be much to write home about, but getting started is the biggest hurdle. I am going to hold myself accountable in that. I think that I will make Monday my social media prep day. Put together videos and photos that really show my personality and my skillset. I am also going to be making my blog posts a weekly occurance again. Focusing on the parts of my industry that I adore.
I look forward to seeing you on my little social connection journey.
